Our Ambition

Guided by our purpose

At JDE Peet’s we have deeply embedded roots in the coffee and tea industry, dating back to 1753. Worldwide, we are touching the lives of millions of people - from earth to bean and from bean to cup, through our iconic brands.

Coffee & tea create opportunities for farmers and their families, our suppliers, customers, consumers and our employees. However, climate change and social inequality threaten the people, the planet and the coffee & tea that we all love.

Together, we are on a journey to secure a future for coffee and tea. Sustainability is constantly evolving. With our Common Grounds sustainability programme, we take a dynamic approach to make an impact across our value chain, focusing on three pillars: Responsible Sourcing, Minimised Footprint and Connected People.

At JDE Peet’s, we are committed to unleashing the possibilities of coffee and tea to create a better future. A future in which we stand on Common Grounds.

Our Core

Our Priorities

Responsible

sourcing

We work collaboratively with our stakeholders to address the priority issues in our supply chain.

Sustainable

packaging

We make every effort to tackle the waste challenge and provide consumers with responsibly packaged products.

Climate

Action

We are committed to climate action that lessens our environmental impact across our value chain.

Diversity, Equity

& inclusion

We are committed to an environment in which the unique voice of every country, culture and individual is heard.

Community

Engagement

Our products have a unique ability to help bring people together and create stronger, more connected communities.

Thriving supply chains

Responsible Sourcing

Coffee & tea are our two primary raw materials. We source approximately 8% of the world's green coffee and less than 1% of the world's tea. However, both products are grown in countries that face significant socio-economic and environmental challenges. Through our responsible sourcing and supplier engagement programme, we are committed to a sustained supply of coffee & tea from a diversity of origins that supports farming communities’ vision of prosperity and contributes to healthy ecosystems.

ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP

MINIMISED FOOTPRINT

We are committed to minimising our environmental footprint across our network of manufacturing facilities while providing quality products that meet the needs and preferences of our customers and consumers. We also take into account our environmental footprint along the full value chain, for instance through the introduction of more sustainable packaging.

ENGAGING OUR COMMUNITIES, EMPLOYEES AND CONSUMERS

CONNECTED PEOPLE

Coffee & tea are at the heart of life, providing warmth and refreshment for moments big and small, happy and sad. This gives us a wonderful role to play. Because our products have a unique ability to help bring people together and create stronger, more connected communities. We believe it is our responsibility to do this wherever possible.
